It was GLOWING!

T-day last year took a new meaning for us - Tahiti-day! That's right. A week of R&R in Bora-freakin-Bora. And jeez, we needed it. It'd almost been a year since our last trip out of the country, work hours were stomping all over our souls and we were getting stir crazy. So instead of doing something drastic like quitting our jobs and moving who-knows-where, we decided to go and snuggle up with some sharks and sting rays.*

The first few days we were there was a lot like SD has been the past week, but once the clouds parted...oh man, paradise welcomed us with open arms. You know, you look at photos to get an idea of where you're going, but seeing it in person is a whole nother thing. I mean, one moment you're sitting atop this vibrant blue water, then you travel minutes away to where the ocean is glowing. GLOWING. Absolutely amazing. In our time spent there, we did actually get into the water with the sharks and sting rays, we snorkeled, kayaked, had a late night dip in the pool, sampled the Tahitian cuisine, fed the fish through a hole in our bungalow, watched the sunset, downed a bottle of spiced rum and champagne (not at once), toured the main island, Jennie lit a guy on fire (he was asking for it) and really just had an awesome time.

And then we returned home...to our long work hours and busy schedules...for now...

*note: sting rays are much more affectionate, but I'd rather swim with the sharks.
